Wow. Reminds me of a story my Grandad told me about when he was serving on a battleship in the British Navy in WW2. He was the ship’s runner, and was on an errand when a giant wave hit and swept him overboard. He was only saved because his watch strap caught on the side railing. Hanging on by his watchstrap he called for help and was eventually pulled back to safety by his comrades.
