What better way to say you love the environment than by building a heart-shaped solar power plant?
This is what the “Heart of New Caledonia” plant will look like when it’s completed on the French island in the South Pacific. A local beverage company has contracted Conergy Australia to build it.
It was inspired by the nearby landmark, “Coeur de Voh”, or “Heart of Voh” — a naturally heart-shaped mangrove forest, pictured at right.
When finished, the plant will generate enough electricity for 750 homes and reduce carbon emissions by two million tons over it’s 25-year life expectancy.
