The damage from Hurricane Sandy might seem like it all happened around New York, but the storm had a long path before it hit the East Coast. Flooding killed at least 54 people in Haiti and left tens of thousands homeless.
A fledgling offshoot of the Occupy Sandy Relief movement, is raising money to provide water filters and compost toilets in Haiti, where human waste has become a huge threat to people’s health.
