When Sunday’s New York City Marathon was canceled on Friday, nearly 50,000 runners from 125 countries had no race to run.
Many of them instead got involved in superstorm Sandy relief efforts.
About 1,300 would-be marathon runners in orange jerseys ran through Staten Island on Sunday carrying relief supplies to devastated neighborhoods and helping clean-up.
