The retired school teacher from Bay Shore, New York purchased the sporty P1800S when it was new and has since driven as many road miles as it would take to make nearly 1,200 trips around the globe at the Equator.
Countless road trips around the United States earned for his little red car the Guinness Book of World Records title for High Mileage Vehicle in 2002, when it passed 1.6 million miles.
