A homeless man’s luck turned on a dime, with a scratch-off lottery ticket winning him a half-million dollars.
Michael Engfors had been homeless for six years when he bought the ticket Friday at a grocery store in the skiing resort city of Aspen, Colorado — the town where he’s lived all his life.

Before winding up on the streets, he’d lost his business, gone through a divorce, and struggled with alcoholism.
He wants to use the money to reconnect with a daughter he hasn’t seen in 20 years, get a place to live, and — since it’s Aspen — buy a new pair of skis.
