Last Friday, Brianna Amat, the first girl to make the varsity football team at her high school in Michigan, was called onto the field during halftime — while she was still in her uniform — and crowned Homecoming Queen. Less than an hour later, she made a 31-yard field goal, helping her team win the game 9-7.
“They’ve been so accepting of me, it’s as if I’ve always been their teammate,” she explained.
