A bed-ridden employee of the Rotterdam Zoo who was dying of cancer asked Netherland’s Ambulance Wish Foundation to help him visit the animals one last time. The touching goodbye offered by one giraffe, and caught on camera, is warming hearts worldwide.
Mario has cleaned the cages at Rotterdam’s Diergaarde Blijdorp zoo for 25 years. When the ambulance workers wheeled his bed into the giraffe enclosure, the 54-year-old man had a sweet visit with the animals he loved.
