Electric cars are an improvement over pure gasoline cars, but depending on where the electricity to recharge them comes from, they indirectly lead to environmental impact. Demand from coal fired electric plants and other fossil fueled plants puts carbon into the air. Opening dam turbines poses a risk to fish.
