President Bush sent five aid ships filled with emergency stockpiles of food to Sudan and ordered the emergency purchase of another 40,000 metric tons of food for rapid shipment to help ease the oncoming humanitarian crisis. He also called on the US Congress to approve $225 million in food aid. . .
