“I have noticed that I have quite a few people talk about being positive, kind, and caring,” she told GNN. “It is somewhat ironic I must admit, but I think the aim of the project is to get people thinking positively about themselves and I think I am accomplishing that so far.
“I was starting to find that sometimes the word ‘remarkable’ intimidates people, though. Some people have a response right away, and some struggle a little.
“Sometimes when people can’t come up with a response right away, I tell them to think about it for a day or two and message me –and I’ve had such great responses when I do this as well, and many people have told me what a positive experience it was to have that period of self reflection.
“I think I look at it as, even if I get similar responses, that doesn’t mean that each person is not remarkable in their own way. And hopefully I inspire them to keep thinking about what makes them remarkable, and what they can do to show that to others.”
Peterson said she doesn’t plan on stopping the project anytime soon, either. She might try to make a coffee table book of all the inspiring submissions – or she might just continue using Judge as a means of getting people to love themselves across the country.
“It is giving me purpose in a way I never expected,” said Peterson.
