The dog who escaped from airline handlers at Newark Airport on August 14 and inspired dozens to search for weeks in nearby neighborhoods has been found and reunited with her family.
The broken-hearted owners had returned last month to their home in San Diego without their 4-year-old lab mix. They were plenty worried because the dog had never been forced to survive on her own.
A Facebook Page, created to raise awareness for the missing pooch, helped to rally support.
Exactly one month later, a relieved Continental airlines welcomed the return of the dog, which had lost 11 pounds during the ordeal, and delivered her home with the happy couple who flew in immediately to escort Daisy home. This time, she flew first-class, as a service dog, in the cockpit and received a basket of doggie gifts upon landing.
