A 13-year-old boy invented a doorbell that fools burglars into believing somebody is home even when the house is empty.
The Smart Bell, designed by Laurence Rook, dials the homeowner’s mobile phone when pressed, allowing them to talk to whoever is outside their front door.
The doorbell can also be used to help delivery workers to complete their deliveries.
The product, which is being prepared for release in the UK at a cost of £40, is set to earn the boy around £250,000.
