Within days and without warning, adventure Mike Scholes lost most of the sight in his left eye, due to the onset of an inherited optic condition.
“This meant an abrupt change in my life,” Scholes says. “I had a very successful hot air balloon business, and I had to stop flying. I had to sell my cars as I could no longer drive.”
Then he participated in a six-month clinical trial. He was one of the nine lucky patients who, out of 36, experienced marked improvement in eyesight.
