If the sky is clear where you are tonight may we suggest stepping outside and looking up? There will be a fairly rare “blue moon” above.
And, though the moon won’t be blue, the last time we saw an “extra” full moon appearing on New Year’s Eve was in 1990, and it won’t happen again until 2028.

We rang in the new year photographing the blue moon from the top of Carson Pass in the Sierra Nevada mountain range, where we took a beautiful moonlight snowshoe hike. Hopefully we can do it again in 19 years. 😉 Happy New Year, Geri!

Wow, that really sounds heavenly. Thanks for creating that image in my mind! I’ve never used snowshoes, but love to ski in the snow…
