The dog was a sickly-looking beagle with no hair on her ears. “You could see all of her ribs,” said Lynn Marshall, who rescued the animal from a hunter and nursed her back to health.
That was 20+ years ago and ‘Penny’ now may be one of the oldest dogs living in the world.
Penny was a full-grown adult when the Marshalls adopted her, saving her from the previous owner who didn’t want her anymore and was going to shoot her. Today, she looks like a million bucks, despite the “unsteady gait and cloudy eyes”.
